2025 Maritime Silk Road International Industry-University-Research-Application Collaboration ConferenceMarine and Ecological Environment Session, and the 3rd Forum of Ecological Society of University Alliance of the Belt & Road (Second Call)

As the accelerating globalization, competition for natural resources among nations has intensified, while escalating ecological destruction and environmental pollution—critical issues concerning ecological safety—pose direct constraints on high-quality development at both regional and global scales. There is an urgent need for deeper international collaboration in the field of ecological safety, integrating industry, university, research, and practical application.

To address these challenges and strengthen global cooperation in the areas such as vegetation structure, function, and construction; invasive alien species management in agriculture and forestry systems; biodiversity principles and their application in agriculture; plant traits coevolution under environmental stresses; biodiversity conservation and restoration ecology; biodiversity monitoring and protection of animals; pollution control and ecological remediation in mining areas; and river-lake restoration and resource utilization, the “2025 Maritime Silk Road International Industry-University-Research Conference Collaboration—Marine and Ecological Environment Session” and the “the 3rd Forum of Ecological Society of University Alliance of the Belt & Road”will be held in Kunming, China, between October 10thand 13th, 2025. The theme of this conference is “Building a Community of All Life on Earth: Ecological Conservation and Resource Utilization”. This event is going to echo the theme “A Decade Together for a Smarter Future—Writing a New Chapter of the Belt and Road Education Community” of another great event, the 10th Anniversary and the 2025 Annual Forum of the Belt & Road, which will be organized in Gansu, China in September this year.

We sincerely invite experts, scholars, researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and stakeholders worldwide with an interest in ecological safety to participate. The event aims to facilitate the exchange of cutting-edge research findings and scholarly perspectives, enhance academic collaboration, and promote international partnerships across industry, academia, research, and application. By fostering innovative approaches to ecological safety, we seek to advance regional ecological governance mechanisms and sustainable development, contributing to the prosperity of human society and the health of our planet.
